Welcome to Grandpa's Workshop

Grandpa's Workshop is located in Gibsonville, NC and is owned and operated by Carl Allen.  Carl has been woodworking since the mid 1980's.  Building everything from farm buildings to houses and everything that goes in them.  Furniture and cabinets were always the mainstay, but the love for time spent on the wood lathe has always been the most enjoyable.

For some time now Carl has focused on his love for wood turnings.  Developing some of his own styles as well as studying with some of the best wood turners in the US.  The love for domestic and exotic woods from many countries is obvious.  The unique mixing of woods and colors are special to Carl's imagination and eye.  None of the woods used in the projects are ever stained, dyed nor colored in any way.  These are the natural colors of the woods themselves.  Only UV protection and clear finish is ever used.  Nothing to alter the true wood color or grain.
